Imagine an evening set aside to honor our incredible friends, family, and loved ones in the Cancer Community whose courage and resilience have carried them, and us, through some of life’s hardest moments. Whether they are a Survivor, Warrior, or Champion, they all inspire us with their strength, compassion, and perseverance.
This is an evening dedicated to recognizing the individuals and groups whose support, advocacy, care, and personal journeys have touched lives across Central Washington.
We also invite you to nominate a Cancer Hero whose story deserves to be honored and celebrated. Honorees may be recognized in person or in memoriam. This year, nominations are limited and will close on July 14 or once all honoree spots have been filled.
More than a fundraiser, Cancer Heroes is a celebration of hope and community. Together, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner, hear personal stories, and honor each of our heroes before kicking off our heels and celebrating with live music and dancing.
Proceeds from the evening’s Silent Auction and Raise-A-Paddle ensure Cancer Support Community Central Washington can continue providing free services, programs, and resources for individuals and families navigating cancer.
At the heart of this event is gratitude. We are so thankful for the people who show up for one another, who keep going when the road is uncertain, and who remind us that no one should face cancer alone.

Carl Kjobech Impact Award
The Carl Kjobech Impact Award holds a special place within Cancer Heroes, honoring the extraordinary legacy of the organization's founder, Dr. Carl Kjobech. A beloved physician, advocate, and friend to so many, Dr. Kjobech dedicated his life to caring for others and ensuring no one faced cancer alone. His compassion, generosity, and unwavering commitment helped build the foundation of support that continues to serve our community today.
Dr. Kjobech’s connection to the cancer journey was also deeply personal. After facing cancer himself through multiple diagnoses, he understood firsthand the overwhelm, uncertainty, and resilience that come with navigating the disease. Even in the midst of his own journey, he continued showing up for others with empathy, hope, and encouragement.
Created in his memory, the Carl Kjobech Impact Award recognizes an individual whose influence, compassion, and dedication have made a lasting difference in the lives of those impacted by cancer across Central Washington. This award honors someone who embodies the same spirit of kindness, strength, service, and community that Dr. Kjobech shared so freely with others.
